  • Thread titles for Mods/Hidden/Selected forum a different colour..?

    I have already set up a few additional links that allow our Moderators to get at any new posts in our Mods forum quickly... but very often, and through course of habit, I use the standard 'New Posts' link in the navbar. When I do this... it is not so easy to spot new threads in my moderators or admin forums as the thread titles are all the same colour. I know I could look at the Forum/Category column... but was wondering...

    Is there a way, using template conditionals, that the colour of the title of threads in any (admin selected) forum could be displayed in a different colour? Or alternatively, perhaps it could be a template conditional based on the permissions of the user reading the 'New Posts' i.e. the reader is a Mod?

    Is this possible...?

    A conditional will work.

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Threadbit Templates -> threadbit

    Find this code and add the red code:

    Code:
    			$thread[movedprefix]
    			$thread[typeprefix]
    			<a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" [color=red]<if condition="$show['forumlink'] AND in_array($thread[forumid], array([color=blue]X,Y,Z[/color]))">style="color: [color=blue]#123456[/color]"</if>[/color]><if condition="$show['gotonewpost']"><strong>$thread[threadtitle]</strong><else />$thread[threadtitle]</if></a>
    Change the blue code appropriately, where X,Y,Z is a comma separated list of forumids, and #123456 is the color code.

    This will change the color of thread links for the specified forums when the thread links are being displayed in the "new posts" list.

    I tested this and it works.

          Code:
          			<if condition="$show['gotonewpost']">
          				<strong><a [color=red]<if condition="$show['forumlink'] AND in_array($thread[forumid], array([color=blue]X,Y,Z[/color]))">style="color: [color=blue]#123456[/color]"</if>[/color] href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]">$thread[threadtitle]</a></strong>
          			<else />
          				<a [color=red]<if condition="$show['forumlink'] AND in_array($thread[forumid], array([color=blue]X,Y,Z[/color]))">style="color: [color=blue]#123456[/color]"</if>[/color] href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]">$thread[threadtitle]</a>
          			</if>
          ...should work

              Hi,

              This is exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't seem to be able to get it to work on 3.5.3

              The code I have is

              Code:
                          <if condition="$show['gotonewpost']"><a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]goto=newpost&amp;t=$thread[threadid]"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/firstnew.gif" alt="$vbphrase[go_to_first_new_post]" border="0" /></a></if>
                          $thread[movedprefix]
                          $thread[typeprefix]
                          $thread[moderatedprefix]
                          <if condition="$show['gotonewpost']">
                              <strong><a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]">$thread[threadtitle]</a></strong>
                          <else />
                              <a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]">$thread[threadtitle]</a>
                          </if>
              Is this the right place to look and if so what do I need to change?

              Thanks

                Look at what jake posted in post #5 here. That will sort what you are after.

                  That's what I was looking at and I couldn't quite make sense of it.

                  I am normally quite comfortable editing too, not sure if I'm just tired

                    Nope, it still doesn't seem to work for me and I'm now not sure this was what I am after after all.

                    I want to change the colour of the thread titles to white if they are new and haven't been read by the person viewing the forum. Once they've been read I would like them back to the normal colour. This would work in the same way that the icon works at the side of a new post, which then changed when it's read.

                      Could I alter this code to make Moderators' threads title to be displayed with a special colour ?

                        Yes, but you'd need an alternate conditional to check for is_member_of usergroup for moderators.

                          Thanks for feedback !
                          I will work with <if condition="is_member_of($vbulletin->userinfo, 5, 6, 7)">
