Can't view forum without logging in...

I have upgraded my forum to version 3 - only 3.0.0 Gamma though as my upgrade part of my owned license ran out just after 3.0.0 Gamma came out so I can't upgrade to a newer version - everything works great except visitors who don't have a cookie from the site are asked to log in before visiting the forum and see a default template - they see the forum for about a second then it automatically goes to profile.php. They can leave the site and come back again and everything is fine, they get straight into the forum without logging in.

I have searched the admin cp to see if there is an option requiring visitors to log in but I don't think this is the problem as visitors can revisit the site later on a have no problems at all.

Any help would be appreciated as my VB3 version of the forum has been sitting on a test site for way too long and I really want to upgrade the forum proper.

I really can only provide support on the latest versions because from your version on to the latest stable 3.0.3 are not only bugs but also security issues fixed.

Check your usergroup permissions to see if they can view the forum, etc.

So do you have any idea of what might be causing it? I can't imagine every single person that upgraded to 3.0.0 had the same problem meaning they all had to upgrade...

I would love to upgrade to the latest version but after waiting 12 months for a release version of VB3 my client is somewhat reluctant to pay out for further upgrades.

This was my immediate though, so I have already tried and eliminated that I'm afraid.

When presented with the login request you can simply go to the forum jump list and select a forum and you can enter as a guest with no problems. This is why I can only assume it is cookie related.
