new post/thread email notification issue

if new post/thread email notification is enabled for a forum, creating a new thread or replying to an existing thread is very slow to run.... once the email notification is disabled for that forum, new threads and replies pop right up...

otherwise, email works, and diagnostics do not return errors...

forums othewise works swell... (have not upgraded to 3.0.3 after first two attempts bombed...)

would appreciate any references to possible fixes for the forum notification issue.. cheers

This is a mail server issue. The server is processing emails very slowly. You'll need to contact your host about this.

thought you would say that... and sure enough, our email server's internet agent is moving like cold ketchup out of a bottle... thanks, and sorry for the bother...
