  • My forum is banning people!

Some people (registered) got announcements that they are banned when they tried to open a post / attachement / section. It's not every time; it's not the same thing they want to open and it are not the same persons.

Even Administrators en Moderators are "banned" for 48 hours.

    Try to open this:
    http://forum.vi.nl/attachment.php?attachmentid=2271

People who are not registered got the announcement of an IP ban.

    What is this?!?

I appreciate that fact, but I cannot troubleshoot an issue if I can't read the page.

Have you installed any hacks (including portals) or added any code to the headinclude, header or phpinclude templates? If not, fill out a support ticket at:

        http://www.vbulletin.com/members/mem...ontactform.php

Be sure to include the login info to your Admin CP, phpMyAdmin and FTP. If you have installed hacks or added code, then remove the hacks first then check and see if you still have this problem. If so, leave the default vB files in place and fill out the support request.

If your forum is randomly banning people, are you sure your moderators, super moderators or admins are not going mad about something and is banning users as a bad action? Do you run the latest vBulletin software? Maybe you got hacked and some person is banning members to cause havoc? If you have a hack installed that has a bug, it could be that it is causing this?

The URL that Steve gave is on our forum, you shouldn't receive a banned error. Login with your customer details and you can start a support ticket.

It's a 3.0.3 forum. My moderators can't ban and the Smods can. But I know that they wouldn't do that.

And like I said; it's not al the time. And not for all members. It's sometimes and by some members. When they go to another page the error is gone :s.

Internet Explorer (Engelse versie): Tools -> Internet options -> Connection -> LAN Settings -> 'Use a proxy server' uitvinken. Internet Explorer (Nederlandse versie): Extra -> Internet opties -> Verbinding -> LAN instellingen -> 'Een proxy server gebruiken' uitvinken. .

Since your forums are hacked, you will need to remove these hacks to get further support. You can try asking over at vbulletin.org to see if anyone has run into a similar issue.

Wait a sec... A few days before the problems started I have upgraded my langue pack.
But the announcement that a user is banned appears every time when a users try to do something which he's not allowed.

When a user is trying to view "who's online" (=disabled for normal users) then they get the banned error.
When u user is trying to post a topic in a forum where only crew may post they get the ban error.

Is this just a bad, sick, translation or is there really something messed up?

                  How can I check that?

See if you get the same problems with the default English language pack.

Has someone maybe mixed up the no_permission page and the banned page?

                        vBulletin Message

Test-profiel, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
And in Dutch it says you are banned.

                        Nice translation

Thx for the help guys .
