  • A sporadic MySQL error

Hey guys, I just recently switched to a new server with my box and stuff and I imported all of my msgboard stuff on there. Now that the site is back up, I keep getting this msg:

    -------
    Database error in vBulletin 3.0.0:

    IF(displaygroupid=0, user.usergroupid, displaygroupid) AS displaygroupid,
    language.phrasegroup_calendar AS phrasegroup_calendar,
    language.phrasegroup_advindex AS phrasegroup_advindex,
    language.phrasegroup_postbit AS phrasegroup_postbit,
    language.phrasegroup_global AS phrasegroup_global,
    language.options AS lang_options,
    language.languagecode AS lang_code,
    language.charset AS lang_charset,
    language.locale AS lang_locale,

    language.logdateoverride AS lang_logdateoverride,
    language.decimalsep AS lang_decimalsep,
    language.thousandsep AS lang_thousandsep
    FROM user AS user
INNER JOIN userfield AS userfield ON (user.userid = userfield.userid)
    INNER JOIN usertextfield AS usertextfield ON (usertextfield.userid = user.userid) INNER JOIN language AS language ON (language.languageid = IF(user.languageid = 0, 1, user.languageid))
    WHERE user.userid = 4

mysql error: Can't find file: 'user.MYD' (errno: 2)

Sometimes, when I try to log on in the admincp, it gives me an error too. It comes and goes. Is there something that Im doing wrong?

Error code 2: No such file or directory

You are missing your user table data file. It looks like you didn't backup and restore the complete database.

Note the only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. Please see the instructions here:

    Backup:
    http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...nce_ssh_backup

    Restore:

But its like I said...It comes and goes...See like yesterday I got the error a couple of times but today I didnt get any errors..

I know that I had to transfer DNS'es and in the middle of all the transfer I was getting all sorts of errors.

I even repaired the tables and saw that nothing was wrong there. The user table seems to be intact as well.

Then it's a server issue. For some reason the server cannot find or access the user table data intermittently.
