  • Moderator permissions...

At the moment on our vb2.3.4 board (hopefully upgrading today) we have quite a few moderators. Quite a few of these we have had to make administrators so that they can see the online.php page and have the ability to move threads. We would MUCH rather control access from the ACP because at the moment we have to have an htaccess password on the admin directory as well as then entering your username / password into ACP login. This is because we dont want those "administrators" to have access to the ACP.

How has this differed in 3.0.3? We want to be able to say that moderator "mr x" can only move threads, ban users, see online.php whereas moderator "mrs x" can only see whose online and move threads...etc etc. You get the idea. Is this possible in 3.0.3 now without htaccessing the admincp directory? Help needed Im sure that some of the settings get overridden etc!

You can setup users to be part of one or more usergroups. You can for example add the moderator to the usergroup admin and setup his access masks so he can't see the admin forums.

You can setup moderator and administrator permissions.

At the bottom of moderators - usergroup.php it has:

      Allow administrator permissions
      Allow super moderator permissions

Make sure admin permisions are turned off.
