I have purchased a nice smilie pack, and I have a "smilies for light backgrounds" and a dark background version. The Postbit in my forums is dark, the smilies work well. The WYSIWYG editor, however, is white. Therefore, I want to display the "smilies for light bnackgrounds" in the smilie display, but then have the "smilies for dark background" show in the posts.

Any ideas in using template IF's etc. for it?

    Too complicated?

Implementing that for smilies would be similar to implementing the same thing for post icons (see this thread), except for smilies there are also some file modifications involved.

It would get a little complicated. Since this involves file modifications I recommend you post on www.vbulletin.org for help.

A better alternative might be to change the WYSIWYG editor to a dark background. This can be done by going to your:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Main CSS (in the menu)

Scroll down to the WYSIWYG Editor class. Edit the Background attribute.
