          But i have though. As i copied what the vB2.3.5 entered into the config file on the install (db_name, db_pass, db_servername, db_etc...) (Of course, i only copied the values, i didnt copy the varibales from the 2.3.5 or the whole config.)

          And MySQL isnt down cause i jsut installed 2.3.5 perfectaly.

            Are you using the same database as you did for the 2.3.5 install?

              Link-ID == false, connect failed

              This error means tht either the database info in config.php is wrong, or there is a problem with the MySQL server.

                1) Yes.

                2) I cant seem to find how it can be wrong, MySQL server is up and running and config is fine in my eyes:

                  Try using a database name that doesn't include two underscores. Of course, make sure you have created the database first and have assigned the db user to that db.

                      You can't use this?

                      $dbname = 'gamersbible_forum';

                      I don't know what else to suggest then. I haven't run across a server that insists on 2 underscores in the db name before. Whatever is going on, this is still either an issue with config.php or the server itself.

                      Do you have a web site control panel? Do you know what it is? (Cpanel, Plesk, etc.)

                        Its a cp created by the hosts themself (Lycos).

                        Can you suggest a cheap, but good MB webspace and BW (like £5 -> £7 p/m and 600MB / 6-7GB BW or around that)?
