  • Question

    Hello,

    I am interested in creating a small "latest news" section to appear on top of my forums, on the main forum page. (to fit in between the User CP menu bar, and the forums list) where I can post some latest news blogs as an eye catcher for everyone to view as they come into the forums. Kinda like a news ticker. Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks!

    The HTML code would need to be inserted here:

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Forum Home Templates -> FORUMHOME

    Code:
    $stylevar[htmldoctype]
    <html dir="$stylevar[textdirection]" lang="$stylevar[languagecode]">
    <head>
    	<!-- no cache headers -->
    	<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache" />
    	<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="-1" />
    	<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" />
    	<!-- end no cache headers -->
    	<title><phrase 1="$vboptions[bbtitle]">$vbphrase[x_powered_by_vbulletin]</phrase></title>
    	$headinclude
    </head>
    <body>
    $header
    $navbar

    INSERT CODE HERE

    <!-- main -->
    <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
    <thead>
    You can just edit the code in this template every time you want to change the news. Or you could go for a more dynamic approach where you post the news elsewhere and the news on your forum is automatically updated. For help with specific applications like this I recommend you post on www.vbulletin.org, the official vB hacking site.
