  • My users cant receive email

    Hi all

    im a new member

    in my forum my users cant receive an email from forum ,,,

    i dont why ..

    i've ver 3.0.1 ,,,,, before in ver 3.0.0 i Haven’t this problem

    plzzzzzz what the solution ....

    Check to see if your server's email settings are correctly configured. Go to your:

    Admin CP -> Import & Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Email

    Send yourself a test email.

      and i received an email to this [email protected]

      but wen i send to hotmail or another free mail i'm not received this is the problem

        In that case, the problem is mostly likely that the spam filters on Hotmail and other free email services are blocking the emails sent by your forums. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about this since it's a problem with the spam filters.

          SPam Filters ??
          can u please explain more about it

          coz almost 30% or more no. of forums have such problems

          if u can explain more, we mite try to help ourselves

              A spam filter checks incoming emails. If the filter thinks an email is spam then it filters it out, usually putting the email into a spam folder.

                I received an email too. But did not receive activation email.
                I have tested the same email. I dont understand.

                  What is the URL to your forum? I want to register to see if I receive the activation email.

                      I registered an account. I received the activation email but it went into my spam box. I used my Yahoo email address.

                      So the activation emails appear to be working.

                        Anyway I succeed using different email.

                        The failer email was very strange because activation email not in spam folder.

                        When I registered previous version of VB3, no problem.

                          I'm not getting activation emails either. All other emails seem to be working.. I'm at version 3.0.3. I had a couple users sign up and never confirm, so I tested and I never recieve the activation email.. and I was using an standard isp email address.

                          Testing email in the admin CP does work fine. And other emails from teh forum package do go out. It's just the activation emails that seem to get stuck somewhere.

                            There is no difference from the vB end between and activation email and other emails. Try enabling the -f parameter to see if this makes a difference:

                            Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> Enable "-f" Parameter -> Yes
