  • Can't Find "View User's Ip Address"

For some reason I am using the default postbit legacy template but I can not find the ip logged for that post by the user and I have it set so that administrators can see the ip. Any ideas why?

I can't duplicate this problem on my unhacked 3.0.1 test forum. The IP shows up fine using the legacy postbit. Have you installed any hacks (including portals) or added any code to the headinclude, header or phpinclude templates?

Now... yes, However this was a problem since I went to vb 3 gold even before adding hacks, I assumed it was a glitch that was never fixed but now I have a spammer that I need to see his posts ip log and can't.

Try this. Reupload the original vbulletin-style.xml file from the zip file to your install directory. Make sure you upload this in ASCII and overwrite the one on the server. Then import this file in the 'Upload' section of the Style Manager. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

I changed it from the legacy to the default and that did not work and I also created a new style and that did not solve the problem. Is there any manual link I can use to physically type in the address in my browser window and just substitute a few things to be able to figure out the ip address of a user for a certain post?

Hmmm...as I said I cannot duplicate this problem. If you have not installed any hacks (which includes portals), fill out a support ticket at:

            http://www.vbulletin.com/members/mem...ontactform.php

Be sure to include the login info to your Admin CP, phpMyAdmin and FTP. If you have installed hacks, then remove the hacks first then check and see if you still have this problem. If so, leave the default vB files in place and fill out the support request.
