display warning when replying to old threads

When someone hits reply for a thread that is over a year old, is there a way to display a warning like
"Note: the post you are replying to is over one year old".

I don't want to lock all the old threads, because sometimes you get a very interesting follow-up long after the fact. But at the same time, often people don't notice the date a thread was posted.

Implementing such a warning would require modifying the vBulletin files. For this reason I recommend you post on www.vbulletin.org, the official vB hacking site.

(I'm never sure if such things can be done via conditionals in the templates if the hooks already exist or whether a hack would be required, so I never know whether I should post here first or at vbulletin.org so thanks for directing me to the right place.)
