  • Private Messages ON by default

Hello and thanks for your help.

How do I enable Private Messaging as DEFAULT for everyone? The way it is now, members have to enable it. I would prefer to have it automatically enabled for all members, and they would have to DISABLE it if they did not want to use it.

AdminCP > vBulletin Options > User Registration Options > Default Registration Options > Check Receive Private Messages and save

Then to enable it for everyone else

AdminCP > Import & Maitences > Excute SQL Query > From the drop down select > Yes - Recive Private Messages

Hit continue, this will turn it on for all registered users.

Sorry to drag up an old thread again but can the default option of PM's be controlled on a per group basis?

We would like to have the PM turned off for a particular group by default but if they want to turn it on they can do so in their options.

Normal registered users would have PM's on by default.

Can this be done without any mods?

No, there is no option to set the default by Usergroup.
