  • Unable to add cookies, header already sent. - View Topic Error

    Sometimes when viewing a topic i get this error above everything:

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting ']' in /home/zero/public_html/forums/includes/functions_showthread.php(702) : eval()'d code on line 9

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting ']' in /home/zero/public_html/forums/includes/functions_showthread.php(702) : eval()'d code on line 9
    And this error message is shown where the thread would normally be:

    Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
    File: /home/zero/public_html/forums/includes/functions_showthread.php(702) : eval()'d code
    Line: 9
    Now i know in the past this thread was viewable, but since a reply has been made, i can only view it in the archive screen

    Any fix on this would be great, and for info, it occurs on ALL skins
    Thank you for your time

    Sounds like a hack that corrupted datastore.

    Try to run this file in the forum/ directory.

    rebuild.php
    PHP Code:
    <?php

    require_once('./includes/init.php');

    require_once(
    './includes/functions.php');

    require_once(
    './includes/adminfunctions.php');

    build_options();

    ?>
    hopefully this will fix things for you.
    Also upload the original .php files or fix the hack. (if any)

      Ok i installed a test forum, 100% new files, but i connected it to the same database
      went back to that very same thread, and boom the error occured

      Its only happening in a few threads, and it only sometimes happens on page 2 of the threads, now with 3.1 files uploaded, i fail to see that the files themselves are at fault, but instead the database, and i honestly do not want to wipe my database and start fresh..

      So i ask you if there is any query at all the "fix" this problem, i just cant get around why it's doing it in some threads, and not others, theres nearly 1500 threads, and only 2-4 topics have this error

      Thank you for your support

        Is there anything unusual about those threads? Do you allow HTML posting?

          Nothing unusual at all, and no i don't allow HTML in threads, just standard UBB code, images, and your standard text

          The threads are perfectly viewable in archive mode, and they seem no different from others, the thread only goes like this when say a post is made, because i can view the first page of the thread if it has 2 pages, but when i got to the second, boom i get that error message, it happened once a while back, but i just deleted the thread and it never came back, but now its appearing in a few more places and i can just delete threads where it occurs for reasons

          Thanks for your response

            Did you run the rebuild.php that Floris posted?

              Ofcourse, i also searched similar topics and ran one which had fixoptions.php, which was just the same file

              No errors occured when running the file, since it was put into my forums root directory where all vb main scripts are located

                    Confirmed, the file is fresh from a 3.1 zip archive

                    Line 702 reads as:
                    Code:
                    // ###################### Start process_highlight_postbit #######################

                        What's the link to a thread causing this error?

                          Code:
                            eval('$retval = "' . fetch_template($maintemplatename) . '";');

                              I just viewed the page and I'm not getting any errors.

                              I tried adding on highlight just in case it was that but still no error.
