  • fatal memory errors

Error has been reported while browsing in general; happens at odd times, and doesn't seem to be relate to any one particular action.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 737280 bytes) in [path to site]/var/www/html/forum/forumdisplay.php(822) : eval()'d code on line 332

I've read this thread ( http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ed+memory+size ) and so far I can see that it's been suggested people go from 8 MB to 16 MB (which I'm at right now to start with) and changing memory_limit; mine is currently 1MB, but the thread didn't seem to provide info if that should be changed and to what.

    Here's the stats:
Server Type Linux; PHP v4.2.2; apache
    MySQL v3.23.54
    PHP Maximum Upload Size 2M
    PHP Max Post Size 8M
    PHP Memory Limit 16M
MySQL Maximum Packet Size 1.00 MB
Database Data Disk Usage 163.41 MB
Database Index Disk Usage 29.83 MB
    Attachment Disk Usage 47.08 MB
Custom Profile Picture Disk Usage 0.20 MB
Custom Avatar Disk Usage 0.19 MB

    It's a small forum:
    Server Load Averages 0.20 0.46 0.45 | 15 Users Online (4 members and 11 guests)

So, how's this to be fixed?

I have a RAM limit of 64MB, and that runs fine. Try expanding to 32MB.

Try setting the memory limit to 24 or 32
