  • Urgent support request: Chinese character oddity

    Hi,

A few searches reveiled a few hints relating to Chinese characters and vBulletin 3. Nothing on this problem though.

Problem in this case is that I can post chinese characters and most of them are displayed correctly. However, some of them are replaced by a *
(Link to thread with that particular problem:
    http://www.greencurrent.org/forums/s....php?p=6#post6 )

I have changed the page encoding in the language manager for the default language to UTF-8. How is it that some characters are still displayed as *?

    UPDATE:

For some odd reason, when putting in the Chinese text I noticed that the page's encoding is set to default, not to UTF-8. Once I change the encoding to UTF-8, some characters disappear. I suppose the page should be set to UTF-8 by default. How can I set all page's encodings to UTF-8?

    UPDATE:

Changing encoding to UTF-8 manually in the browser and then publishing it again doesn't help either.
Problem remains, some Chinese characters are replaced by *.

    UPDATE:

Email notification of this thread looks "...ä½*注å??äº?ã??é?®James好ã??..."
