    Your problem is:

I don't know if you resolved this issue or now, but here's the problem:

Your server "Host Name" is set to domain.com and not www.domain.com

When you request the forums pages without the trailing slash, the server suffers a recoverable error. Technically, you should ALWAYS use a trailing slash when referring to directories, because technically a file by the same name can exist.

The server finds the folder and rewrites the url to include the trailing slash, but it uses the server defined "Host Name", which in your case does not include the "www.".

There are 2 methods of resolution.

    1. Contact your ISP to have them change the "Host Name" in the httpd.conf file.
    2. Use another redirect to detect when the URL does not include www and rewrite it accordingly - you should use Mod_Rewrite to do this.

I'm not going to bother posting the code for the Mod_Rewrite redirect, but if you're stuck let me know and I'll do it for you!

Hi I just checked that the domain setting for cookies did fix that... I will check out apache config and see if there is anything I can do. Thank you for your time and support... Top notch as allways!

Changing your cookie domain should make it so your forum cookies work across both URLs.

As for the redirection problem, that is a server configuration problem that I have seen before. Unfortunately I have no idea how to fix it.

I have done this and still it redirects them to http://domain.com/forum However if someone is go to my vbindex page first and then to http://www.domain.com/forum via a link it leaves them at www.domain.com. I had this redirection issue before I did any mods or anything to the forum.

Thank you for the quick reply.

    Domain/Cookie Issues

    Greetings,

I did a search but did not really see anything and I might have given up too early and if this is the case I am sorry...

Anyway my issue is when people go to http://www.domain.com/forum it takes them to http://domain.com/forum and this is a issue with cookies. People can not login correctly. It does not matter if you are logged in or not, clean cache or cookies it still does this.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,

    Mark Laudenbach
