    Yep, looks like I did. Don't know how I skipped it but....it works now! Thanks!

    You only swapped the cells in the forumhome_forumbit_level1_post template. You need to make the same changes to the forumhome_forumbit_level2_post template.

    Need Similar Assistance

    Upgraded from 2 and made minimal changes, but seems like i am missing some of the text as shown above.

    Right now, I have changed my column headings and the accompanying cells beneath them. However, this only worked for my main forum, the next set still reflects incorrectly.

    Additionally the column margins are out of whack. Where is the best place to tackle this specific issue?

    Any assistance would be wonderful!

    Gah, I got it about 10 seconds after I posted the above. Level 2 post!

    Jake, thanks very much again and my apologies for my overtired eyeballs. After awhile all of this code ends up looking like:

    Code:
    You have been doing this too long, Chris. Go out and get a beer.
    Thanks very much!

    Ok, I'm going mad here, I must be getting old.

    Jake was nice enough to edit one of my templates for me, and it worked like a charm. I went to the default template (we switched, not my idea ) and tried to do his edits, but it was no go.

    So I copied the level1_post and nopost, as well as the forumbit template from the one he edited to the one I'm trying to edit, and the formatting still isn't the same.

    Is there something other than forumhome_forumbit_levell1_post/nopost and FORUMHOME that I need to edit?

    Thanks and apologies again if I'm overlooking something simple.

    Question 1: Worked Perfect.
    Question 2: Didn't seem to do it.
    Question 3: Worked Perfect.
    Question 4: PM on the way.
    You: The Man.

    Here's my data for both post/nopost forumbits:

    Code:

      </td>
      <td class="alt1">$forum[threadcount]</td>
      <td class="alt2">$forum[replycount]</td>
      <td class="alt2" nowrap="nowrap">$forum[lastpostinfo]</td>
      <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
      <td class="alt1"><div class="smallfont">$forum[moderators]&nbsp;</div></td>
      </if>
    It would appear that I have my ducks in a row, but the last posted thread is still left of the post/thread counts.

    Thanks very much for the quick, detailed response. I really appreciate it.

    Go to your:

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Forum Home Templates -> forumhome_forumbit_level2_post

    Remove the red code:

    Code:
    <tr align="center">
    	<td class="alt2"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_$forum[statusicon].gif" alt="" border="0" /></td>
    	<td class="alt1Active" align="$stylevar[left]" id="f$forum[forumid]">
    		<div>
    			<a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]"><strong>$forum[title]</strong></a>
    Make a similar change to the forumhome_forumbit_level1_post template.

    If you want to remove the bold face from your category links then go to your:

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Main CSS (in the menu)

    Scroll to the Category Strips class and remove bold from the Font Style field.

    Image link thing - forum name - threads - posts - last post -moderator
    It appears you have moved the label row to the forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost template. In that case, for the first step go to your:

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Forum Home Templates -> forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost

    Move the red code as shown below:

    Code:
    <tbody>
    	<tr>
    		<td class="tcat" colspan="<if condition="$vboptions[showmoderatorcolumn]">6<else />5</if>">
    			<a style="float:$stylevar[right]" href="#top" onclick="return toggle_collapse('forumbit_$forumid')"><img id="collapseimg_forumbit_$forumid" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_tcat{$collapseimg_forumid}.gif" alt="" border="0" /></a>
    			<a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]">$forum[title]</a>
    			<if condition="$show['forumdescription']"><div class="smallfont">$forum[description]</div></if>
    			<if condition="$show['subforums']"><div class="smallfont"><strong>$vbphrase[subforums]</strong>: $forum[subforums]</div></if>
    		</td>
    	</tr>

    	<tr align="center">
    	  <td class="thead">&nbsp;</td>
    	  <td class="thead" width="100%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
    	  <td class="thead" width="175">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
    	  <td class="thead">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
    	  <td class="thead">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
    	  MOVE THE RED CODE HERE
    	  <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
    	  <td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
    	  </if>
    	</tr>

    </tbody>
    <if condition="$childforumbits">
    <tbody id="collapseobj_forumbit_$forumid" style="{$collapseobj_forumid}">
    $childforumbits
    </tbody>
    </if>
    Then in that same section of your Admin CP, edit the forumhome_forumbit_level1_post template. Move the red code:

    Code:
    		<td class="alt2" nowrap="nowrap">$forum[lastpostinfo]</td>
    		<td class="alt1">$forum[threadcount]</td>
    		<td class="alt2">$forum[replycount]</td>
    		MOVE THE RED CODE HERE
    		<if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
    		<td class="alt1"><div class="smallfont">$forum[moderators]&nbsp;</div></td>
    		</if>
    Make the same change to the forumhome_forumbit_level2_post template.

    Is there a way to do away with this row altogether? I've tried editing it out, but each time I do it skews the cell width of the rows so they span 100% equally, instead of retaining their original width variables.
    That row is used to fix the columns in place. If you get rid of that row then you need to specify the widths for each table cell:

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Forum Home Templates -> forumhome_forumbit_level2_post

    Add the red code:

    Code:
    <tr align="center">
    	<td class="alt2"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_$forum[statusicon].gif" alt="" border="0" /></td>

    You have modified the forumhome_forumbit_* template code. I would need to look at your modifications to see what the problem is. If you send me a private message with a URL and admin login for your forums then I can take a look.

  • 4 Questions: Forum links, headers, and an absence of space.

    Hi folks, new guy here.

    Firstly, I'd like for my forum links on the main index page to not be in bold text, but I can't figure out how to do so.

    Secondly, the display order of the table cells is currently:

    Image link thing - forum name - last post - threads - posts - moderator

    I'd like to move "last post" so it's next to Moderator, if that's possible, so that the order is:

    Image link thing - forum name - threads - posts - last post -moderator

    Third:

    http://www.sevenstring.org/misc/linkedto/header.jpg

    Is there a way to do away with this row altogether? I've tried editing it out, but each time I do it skews the cell width of the rows so they span 100% equally, instead of retaining their original width variables.

    Lastly:

    For some reason, there's no space between this forum section header and the forum above it (the last forum under the previous heading).

    http://www.sevenstring.org/misc/linkedto/header2.jpg

    I've tried renumbering things a variety of ways, but can't seem to fix it.

    Any insight on these would be really appreciated. I apologise for sticking all of this in one thread, but it seems better than spamming 4 threads on my first visit here.

    Thanks very much.
