There are no stupid questions. Don't feel ashamed asking!

You are on the right track here, let me clear things up for you.

You are right to set the 4mb per file for max file size of PDF files.
But PHP/MySQL are also set to allow only a limit through the browser to get uploaded. This is not a vBulletin setting but a server setting for PHP/MySQL.

If you don't know how to modify which files, you are best of asking your hosting provider to change the upload for PHP from 2MB to 4MB in the php.ini file.

Sorry for this probably basic question being a newbie I'm a little in the dark.

I'm having problems with the size of attachments I can upload onto my board.
I have read some of he posts other people have submitted and tried the solutions suggested.
I'm a little puzzled when suggestions refer to changing setting in MYSQL.
I've been trying to upload a PDF file that's only 2.4Mb and the error reports that I have exceeded the php limit of 2Mb. Where is this set? I have configured the Admin VB options to allow a 4Mb quota for PDF's and the attachment option is set to 0 for the whole board.
Can someone shed some light on my problem.

Sorry again for asking such a basic question.
