  • Can edit post but not assigning moderator status

I would like to give permission to a small user group to edit and delete posts in a subforum. I have searched hard but I have found unless I assign them as the moderator of that forum, I am unable to give permission for this purpose either at the group level or individual level.

Is there something I have missed? or this simply can not be done?

Basically, anyone who can edit or delete someone else's Threads/Posts *is* a Moderator. Add them as Moderators to the Subforum (must be done individually) without changing their usergroup membership at all, then go Forums & Moderators > Show All Moderators and edit each one individually to give them only the powers you want them to have. This way they will not have Moderator Usergroup permissions (for example they will not be able to see the Staff Forums) and their powers will be strictly controlled. AFAIK, there is no other way to accomplish this without hacking.

      Thanks for explaining that.

I guess they will show up in the Forum Leaders' page.

Yes, unless you do some template editing.
