  • Upgrading to VBulletin 3 - Problem at Step 7

I have 3 forums and luckily started with my smallest one to do the upgrade from 2 to 3.

I got through the upgrade scripts as far as step 7. Then after doing tons of user setting changes, I got a database error "slight problem with database" and have no idea what to do next.

The server people went on to check the database for me - he tried running step 7 and was emailed this error message from the forum:
Duplicate entry '1' for key 1.
Any ideas what is going on? Or how I need to proceed?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Okay, I went back onto step 7 and copied it for you. As I said, it "Updated private message totals" for many users, then the last thing "Inserting user details" is where it seemed to get hung up:

Updating private message totals for user Duncan
<LI>Inserting user details into usertextfield table

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

Did you run the database conflicts script prior to attempting the upgrade?

Do you have a backup before you started?

Yes, the guys at the server did a complete backup of the database for me.

Your Best off to restore the backup, run the database conflits script and we can try again from there.
