How does "Event reminders" in the calendar work?

I have tried to test a little with "Event reminders" in the calendar but I can not understand how they work

In what way will I get reminded?, can't see (find) any settings for how long time before I will get the reminder, etc.

I just want to bump this question. I would like to know too if this is really an unfinished feature and if you can say something when it will be finished.

Yes, it is unfinished. It will most likely be finshed in the next version, which I don't have an ETA for.
