  • Moving Calendar to the top when event comes up

    When an event comes up in the calendar it displays at the bottom as default. Is there a way to make this so it displays at the top of the forum?

    Thx for the help.

    Can you link us to show an example? I have and always have had calenders disabled on my vB so I need a link to understand. Your questions is slightly vague, so please explain or link if you would like help.

    Regards,

        Yes, it would be possible to achieve that with the use of template conditionals.

                Hi.

                The template that needs to be changed is "FORUMHOME".

                Look for the <!-- what's going on box --> and take out the parts on the calendar and put it under $navbar.

                If it is necessary I guess I could post the whole template here.

                /Anders

                  I don't see why conditionals should be used?

                  The code is already in FORUMHOME - when there are no events, it won't show. To get it appear above the $forumbits just move it above the guest welcome msg part and that means remove it from the what is going on box.

                      For some reason, it's not working for me. Is this the code that needs to be moved?

                      Code:
                      <if condition="$show['upcomingevents']">
                      <tbody>
                       <tr>
                        <td class="thead" colspan="2">
                         <a style="float:$stylevar[right]" href="#top" onclick="return toggle_collapse('forumhome_events')"><img id="collapseimg_forumhome_events" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_thead$vbcollapse[collapseimg_forumhome_events].gif" alt="" border="0" /></a>
                         <if condition="$show['todaysevents']">$vbphrase[todays_events]<else /><phrase 1="$vboptions[showevents]">$vbphrase[upcoming_events_for_the_next_x_days]</phrase></if>
                        </td>
                       </tr>
                      </tbody>
                      <tbody id="collapseobj_forumhome_events" style="$vbcollapse[collapseobj_forumhome_events]">
                       <tr>
                        <td class="alt2"><a href="calendar.php?$session[sessionurl]"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/calendar.gif" alt="$vbphrase[calendar]" border="0" /></a></td>
                        <td class="alt1"><div class="smallfont">$upcomingevents</div></td>
                       </tr>
                      </tbody>
                      </if>
                      or is there more to it?

                      Thanks,

                      Scott

                            New thing, not sure if it's a problem or not. The events are now showing at the top of my forum, so that's fine, but for some reason, birthdays are now showing up there also. Is there anyway to just have calendar events show up there as opposed to birthdays? Or are birthdays considered events also? My forums can be seen here Do I need to post my forumhome template for you guys to look at?

                            Thanks

                              I have chosen to not show birthdays in the Public calendar, but have the birthdays displayed in a calendar just for brithdays.

                              I am not sure if it helps but try to turn off "Show Birthdays on this Calendar" in the Calendar manager.

                              If not I can post my FORUMHOME template.
