    Im testing some japanese text as "a" in japanese is showing up as a symbol instead

    ・りがとう <--- this is what is happening on my board.

      Okay, but what does this have to do with the fact that im getting period's instead of the character? I cannot make this site go live if the upgrade screwed up the japanese.

          and now its affect hiragana characters "a" and "ku"

            Go
            vBulletin Options -> Censorship Options -> Blank ASCII Character Stripper
            If you see some numbers there, try to remove them and see what happens.

            I got the same problem before with certain Chinese characters.
