Error upgrading to vB 3.0.0 FULL

Upgrading from 3.0.0 beta 3 to 3.0.0 FULL - i have uploaded all the new files (everything in the upload folder!!!).



Database error in vBulletin 3.0.0 Beta 3:
Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE calendarcustomfield
ADD description MEDIUMTEXT NOT NULL
mysql error: Duplicate column name 'description'
mysql error number: 1060

Did you run any of the steps twice or press reset? Did you make any modifications to your beta 3 installation based on reports in the bug tracker?

I am pretty sure I didnt, I did refresh the error page like it suggests though!!!

Hmm.. For some reason that field already exists. You will have to drop it from your database before running the upgrade.

Should I drop the entire table (calendarcustomfield) or just the 'description' column???

I am having to drop columns and 'column index's' throughtout the entire upgrade, from beta 3 to beta 6 - so far!!!

Got there in the end...

I think i must have run INSTALL instead of UPGRADE a while back when attempting to upgrade from RC 3 to RC 4.

NOTE: Make sure when upgrading you run UPGRADE not INSTALL - and hopefully you wont have this trouble like I had!!!

Is real easy using phpMyAdmin...

• On the left you have the list of tables, click on the table name (not the 'browse' icon next to it). This takes you to the chosen table structure.
• Near the top you'll see all fields/columns listed in this table - there should be an option next to each called 'DROP'. Click that... and click YES

If you have the same fun as me you'll need to at some point remove the index from certain columns. This is done in the same way as above and on the same screen. Below the column listing you'll see an INDEX listing (provided they have been indexed!). Again, you can remove an index from a field by clicking DROP next to it!!!
