Forum "categories" or something else?

I've tried to create a new category for my forums, at least thats what I thought I was doing. I followed the manual for creating a new category, and I even saw this "category" showing up in my forum, only it's not what I was trying to do.

When you look at this page:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/

You see several of what I was thinking were "categories" These are vBulletin, vBulletin2, vBulletin3, CustomizingvBulletin and so on. Each of these "categories" or dividers between various forums is what I am trying to do.

What are these called if they arent categories and how do I make them?

Yes, those are categories. To create a category go to your:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Add New Forum

Set the Act as Forum setting to No.

To place a forum underneath a category you need to set the forum's parent to the category.
