  • Mods editing user accounts

    Hiya,

I would like a bit of general help.

I'm trying to give my Mods very limited access to changing certain user account details. I've got it pretty much there, but I just can't get it to actually SAVE the data from the Mod panel

I'm guessing it's something to do with user.php.

I have the doformfooter("Save Changes"); line in there, but it doesn't do anything when you click the SAVE button.

Any help or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated!

I believe the Moderator permissions have to be set for certain elements that they are allowed (or not) to modify through the mod control panel. Check for those in the admin control panel moderator permissions and include them.

    User Permissions
    Can View IP Addresses
Can View Whole User Profile (but not edit)
    Can Ban Users
    Can Restore Banned Users
    Can Edit User Signatures
    Can Edit User Avatars
    Can Edit User Profile Pictures
    Can Edit User Reputation Comments

Yes, the problem is thought that the Mod Panel won't even let me SAVE the data, and I'm the only Admin. I'm sure it's got something to do with the code rather than the perms.

I think you can only modify the full profile through the admin control panel and only view the full profile through the mod control panel.

Yes, so how can I adapt this to allow the Mods the limited access?

This requires hacking in vB2. Try asking over at vbulletin.org.

Yes, but I just needed to know where the code that controls the SAVE data button is located, then I should be able to sort it from there.

Since this invloves hacking you need to ask over at vbulletin.org.

This is vB2 "How Do I", floris, not vB3.

Uhm, again! I am 99% sure the navbar mentioned this as a vb3 question. Third time this happened this week.
