Welcome to the vBulletin support forums! In our community forums you can receive professional support and assistance with any issues you might have with your vBulletin Products.
It is hard for us to help you with these problems because your Invision forum has so many hacks. Like I and several other vB team members have told you, our Invision -> vB2 import script is designed to work with an unhacked Invision forum.
If you are having problems uninstalling your Invision hacks then you should try to get help from the hack authors or from some one who is familiar with Invision forums.
np Jake
I can understand that.
I have one last option left now.
directly, modifying the database in IPB 1.3 and then running the import script for vbulletin.
Wish me good luck
Or else i kill all my posts and start again
As the members are imported perfect. :>
If i Face some other probs. apart from the hacks which are cozing a havok for me.
i will let u know.

That error indicates you have open_basedir restrictions in effect on your server. Try this. Create a create a 'tmp' subdirectory under your main account directory and chmod it to 777. Then in the Admin CP you needs to set "Upload In Safe Mode?" to 'Yes' and point the "Safe Mode Temp Directory" to that directory. If you placed the tmp directory in the right place, the path to the Safe Mode Temp Directory will be:
/home/sandeep/tmp
hi Steve,
I tried to UNINSTALL the modifications. but those are giving me errors now

Jake i am trying to uninstall the hacks
Please tell me how do i fix the attachments problems ??
coz, that is not a hack
Attachments are getting displayed properly on IPB 1.3 but after importing to vbulletin those are not appearing.
I have started uninstalling the hacks
will post more if problems are there.
Thnx.
Sandy...
Hi Jake.
1.
Yeah the problem is only with imported information.
Adding Exclamations to the new board doesnot cause any problems.
2.
I think the attachments did not get imported at all.
Can you tell me how do i confirm that ??
There are few attachements on my live forums in .zip files even those do not get listed on this imported forums.
Are the imported attachments stored in the database in vbb ? or in a directory somewhere ?
If you tell me this. i can copy the entire ipb uploads folder to a specific directory for VBB forums simple way.
I have disabled that mod in my IPB. but still it is cozing problems.
Do u want me try import once again ? removing this mod completely from my forum ?
Pleazse also let me know then things i take care of before doing another import.
1) exclamation points being replaced with the HTML equivalent.
This problem appears to be only with imported information, correct? Exclamation points that I post are working fine.
2) attachments not showing up
Same as with the exclamation points, this problem appears to be only with imported posts. Maybe the attachments didn't get imported. I am able to attach files to new posts without any problems.
You had tons of IB hacks installed before the import. It is not unlikely that some of those hacks were the cause of your import problems. I will ask our importer guy about this, but with the number of hacks that you had installed I can't promise a solution. Our importer is designed to work with unhacked IB forums.
Thread: .... Are Intel's and AMD's 64-bit Approaches Compatible inserted sucessfully [edit]
imported successfully. [edit]
That thread is named Are Intel! and AMD!s 64-bit Approaches Compatible inserted successfully
! is getting replaced by #39 on threads and users profiles fields. where they have ! inthere signatures
Check this pages for more info - http://www.tech-arena.com/vbtest/mem...nfo&userid=323
Do you have a login I can use to view that page? You can send me a private message if you want.
Those signatures have HTML code in them. If you don't allow HTML in signatures then the HTML will not parse. You can enable HTML in signatures in your:
Admin CP -> Options -> vBulletin Options -> [Posting Code allowances (vB code / HTML / etc)] -> Allow HTML in signatures?
I will post more as i find them.
Please help me with the above listed problems.
Thnx.
Sandy....
Avatars are included on the page using HTML img tags. Flash files need HTML embed tags to work. Changing this behavior would require modifying the vBulletin code. For help with modifying the code you will need to post on www.vbulletin.org , the official vB hacking site.
As for the fopen() errors, I do not know what is causing that. I will look into this for you.
PS: I see your ticket about these problems in our support system. I am just replying to this thread instead of replying to both.
