  • Database corruption. I know the fix, but how do I *stop* it?

<!-- Database error in vBulletin: Invalid SQL: SELECT user.*,userfield.* FROM user LEFT JOIN userfield ON userfield.userid=user.userid WHERE user.userid='1'
mysql error: Incorrect key file for table: 'userfield'. Try to repair it
    mysql error number: 1034
Date: Friday 23rd of February 2001 09:01:58 PM

That (or something like it) is what vB presents to me every few hours. It requires my intervention to then stop MySQL, and run "myisamchk -r [tablename].MYI"

I'm wondering if there could be some easy answer (at least anything easier than recompiling MySQL). Apache isn't crapping out, and this happens at random (i.e. it's happened under almost 0 server load and also under very heavy load).

Any more data needed by the experts so they may bestow their knoledge upon me?

I had this problem on my board. apparently I didn't have enough room for my temp tables. I don't know how your server is set up, but try moving your temp to a location with more space.
