    Hey guys,
    I purchased Vb last night,
Im pretty happy and i definatly could stare in aw at the files for a few more days
but i figured i should install it ;D
Forgive me, but I am .. how you say... navigationally challanged.
I would really apreciate a comment or suggestion
or a link to the proper resouces.
I have a forum running on the same domian that i would like to install vb,
I would like to convert or import, but where do i begin?
should i use my existing database? and delete the old data after import?
should i install the vb forums with the other data on my web sever? that would be messy no?

im guessing that the steps would be , as in my thread title 'installing, importing, upgrading'?
    but its all fuzzy.

thank you for reading and for any info.

      Hello Faranth,
I will be importing from Invision Board 1.2

There is an import script for IPB in the Members Area under the 'Import Scripts' link.

Well, there are several ways you can approach this. I've done several conversion for people and the way I usually handle it is to upload and install vBulletin into a separate folder and database, making sure that the IPB and vBulletin databases have the same user/pass.

If you only have one database available, I'm sure you can install vB into the same database, but I've never done it that way.

One thing you should be aware of. If you have a large number of PMs, they may take a while to import from IPB because of the way IPB stores them.
