    You could make predefined smilie links that were flash, but i think this would require both template modifaction and sorce code modification to complete it correctly.

    Unfortunately, Flash has very poor support for animated .gif export. Export doesn't support easing or masks (and lots of other things)... it also has poor color depth and this particular animation ends up being 166k as opposed to 16k.

    If I can't use .swf, then I'll probably just scrap it. I'll also go check .org now that I know it's not a supported feature.. maybe someone over there has addressed it.

    Thanks!
    Andrea

    I was only adding one extra bit of text. i'd get laughed out of vB.org by trying to add that there

    I dont think so, i know you can convert .swf to .gif if you have the original source.

    Why would you want a flash smiley? it;s easy enough to convert to gif.

    But i'm sure there's a way. let me check.

    OK..
    Code:
    Open /admin/smilie.php

    Find: or $fileext=="png"

    After ADD

    or $fileext=="swf"
    This is just before the closing bracket ")"

    I'm not sure if this will work, i haven't tested it, but i don't see why it shouldn't

    Flash smilies?

    Is there any way to use .swf for smilies? I am thinking not -- I tried it a few ways and it didn't work. I also searched here. Just wanted to check.
