  • Banning hostnames?

A friends site that I am helping Admin is having problems with one of it's members. They banned this guy, then he came back using a proxy company to get back on the boards. Is there a way to ban an entire hostname that this company uses?

At this time you can only ban IP addresses - not host names.

No, this hasn't changed in vB3.

hmmm that's a bummer. Perhaps that can be considered for a later version of 3.

bumping this up to ask a question regarding this. Is it possible to ban a hostname or isp like austin.rr.com for example using htaccess? If so how would I do it?
