  • How do I make a "test board"?

Looking around mainly on vbulletin.org I see people saying they've installed certain hacks on their "test board"....is there some feature I don't know about? Or do they own a vb license just for testing things?

"If you have a valid licence, you may set up an additional test forum in order to test code, template and database modifications. To make this clear to us and our licence verification procedures, place it in a directory called 'testvb' and be sure to password protect it. It must not be accessible by the general public."

the above is from the license: http://www.vbulletin.com/license.html

You could also set up a web server using Apache, PHP, MySQL, and phpmyadmin to set up a test board locally. I actually set up an old Pentium 233 with Win2k as a web server for all of my testing. Having it set up on a router makes it real easy to test before I upload to my web host. Just another option if you have the means.
