  • How to use a Replacement within a vb code?

admin cp > custom vb codes > modify

I'm trying to edit the appearance of the quote box created by the "quote" tag. The original code for the "quote" tag is:
    PHP Code:
    <blockquote><smallfont>quote:</smallfont><hr>{param}<hr></blockquote
My first edited version (which works fine) is:
    PHP Code:
    <table bgcolor="#BFEFFF" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td>{param}</td></tr></table
My second edited version (which does not work) is:
    PHP Code:
    <table bgcolor="{categorybackcolor}" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td>{param}</td></tr></table
Why doesn't it work, when I use a Replacement for the table bgcolor?
    Thanks,
    Still Waters

Replacement variables that include "{" don't work properly because vBulletin converts them into "&#193;" before the replacements get filtered. I recommend making a new replacement variable equal to "{categoryfontcolor}" that includes some other character before and after the letters; possibly <categoryfontcolor> or [categoryfontcolor].

Thanks, Aaron, I'll give that a try.
