  • Merging old DB with current DB?

I'm running my vBulletin @ http://vb.clan-dna.net and I have our old forum backed up in .ZIP file. I'm used to importing a vB DB via a .SQL file through SSH and I have no idea how to import these files.

How do I merge these files with my current vB DB?

  • #2
You can only install these as root. I'm not quite sure how to do this though. It does involved creating the db and db user, then copying all of these files into the appropriate MySQL directory. You need to make sure the file ownership and permissions are suitable for this db and server.

      Ah, I see. Thanks Steve.

Does anybody know how to do what Steve just explained?

Oops - I just noticed the title of your thread. This will NOT merge two vBs. It will only restore this vB database. There is no official scripts to merge two vB database. If you get this one restore to it's own db, then you might want to check vbulletin.org to see if there is an unofficial merge script.
