  • "Similar Threads"?

I just noticed that nifty feature!

Is it part of vBulletin 3 or is it a hack?

    It's part of vB3. I don't believe there is a hack for vB2 available.

      Drats...

I like all of the new features of vb3, but I really want that journal hack that's only on vb2...

What does the journal hack do exactly? Depending on what you are looking for it may be possible to do with a stock vB3.

Here is a link to a site where the journal hack has been added. You'll see the 'journal' button in the area where the avatar is. Clicking on the link will allow a user to post in his/her journal, or will allow a visitor to read and comment:
          http://sgstudents.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=502

Here is a link to the main 'journal page' which is created with the hack:

Here is the link to the hack details at vB.org:

It would be great if it would work with vb3!!

With some creative template edits and usergroup permission settings, I think you could do everything the journal hack does, in a stock vB3. Actually I kind of like this idea, I may try to do something similar once RC1 is out.

Thinking about it more...the only thing that I was thinking you couldn't do was the comments, but actually that would be easy with a hidden forum that people can still post in.

LOL!! Well let me know if you decide to do this...
Everything you said went WAY over my head. (I'm strickly an end-user/admin-type of gal )

Seriously, though...drop me a line if you work something out for vb3.

My users are screaming for journals!
