You forgot to move and restore the userfield table. This is needed in addition to the user table.

the table is there, when i exported i chose yes to all that were user* and no to all the rest

just to be sure i dropped all user* tables and did a fresh export, then import and i believe i get the same error when users try to update

Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.3.2:
Invalid SQL: UPDATE userfield SET userid=29,field1='',field2='',field3='',field4='' WHERE userid=29
mysql error: Unknown column 'field1' in 'field list'
      mysql error number: 1054

the thing is, it does whatever the update is, but it returns that error

i solved the problem, it was very simple after i sat and read the error message, on the signup page i had soem custom fields that i did not add to the new forum, therefore " mysql error: Unknown column 'field1' in 'field list' " was reffering to that.

i have fixed the custom fields and it works fine, thanks for the help
