  • Reassociating a user

Recently, a user asked me to delete his account, which I did.

Then he reregistered, using the same name. He no long has his post count. Is their any way that I can get him his post count back?

    Thanks

Admin CP -> Users -> Find

Find the user and edit their post count to whatever you want it to be. The post count will increment from where you set it.

Actually reassociating the new user with the old posts would take some doing. You will need to post on www.vbulletin.org for help with that.

I was under the impression that if I ran the database update toos, that would recalculate the post counts. So that if I adjusted it, then updated the DB, it would go back to what it should be

      Am I wrong?

        That's correct.

Forced post counts will be reset if you update the user post counts in your Admin CP. To make the post count stick, you would need to reassociate the old posts with the new user.

I checked out vbulletin.org's forums, however I did not really see a place to ask such a question. I feel this is more of a correct forum. Can anyone help?

What's the question? Changing the default vB behavior in this involves modifying the code. And these type of issues should be asked over at vbulletin.org.
