  • making new foum to replace old one

I have been running vb for a while.. have a small site..
I would like to start a fresh forum with different styles and hacks

this is what I would like to do:

    1) be able to move all my forum topics to the new forum, same as they are now

    2) move all the members over to the new forum with out having them register again, transfer there data base over

    3) keep all my threads and discussions in tack from the old forum to the new one

Im running 2.3.0 and like it, I dont want to upgrade

I have read.. and have not really found a way of doing that yet.. I may have missed something in my searches here..

advice or a link to the thread that will help me..

    Thanks

Why don't you just delete the styles you don't want and upload or create the styles you do want? Also reuploading the original vB 2.3.0 files should overwrite any hacks. However if some of these hacks made changes to the database, then you'll need to reverse those changes manually.

ok.. I can probly do that.. none of the hacks have a data base conection.. was just wondering if there was a way to import my client list and topics..
      I'll get started on it..

      thanks..

If there are no hacks to the database then there's no need to backup and import any tables. Just reupload the original vB files and remove any styles you no longer want.
