  • Technically, why do we need a moderators usergroup?

I must be missing something very important.

I am able to assign any user to moderate a forum, by following these steps: Admin CP > Forums and Moderators > Modify > Add Moderator (next to the desired forum)

Seemingly, it doesn't matter whether that user is in the moderator usergroup or in the registered usergroup. If the user's usergroup doesn't matter, then why have a moderator usergroup at all?
    Thanks,
    Still Waters

It's just convenient to have since moderators usually have different forum permissions than regular members.
