  • Forum pages do not get updated with new posts

Whenever new posts are made, the forum pages are not updated to show that new posts have been made. Similarly, the search for new posts only turns up a handful of matches and the whole board generally gives the impression of zero or very little activity, even though threads are being posted and replied to. We started having this problem today and I haven't seen it before. Whether related or not, we did have some problems with index corruption a few weeks ago and that was fixed at the time.

I did run a manual forum update routine from the admin panel and that seemed to work, although of course just that one time and the problem persists.

Another thing is that we're getting a lot of that "There seems to have been a slight problem with the Xtratime Community database." error whenever a post is submitted. Clicking back and resubmitting takes care of it.

    vb version: 2.2.7

I'm also getting error messages like this one:

    Database error in vBulletin 2.2.7:

Invalid SQL: REPLACE INTO searchindex (wordid, postid, intitle) VALUES
    (568,1666950,0),(258,1666950,0),(454,1666950,0),(232,1666950,0),(18638,1666950,0),(3795,16 66950,0),(49,1666950,0)
mysql error: Can't open file: 'searchindex.MYD'. (errno: 145)

    mysql error number: 1016

First thing, find 'repair.php' in the vB zip file in the Extras directory and upload it to the root of your forums. Turn off your forums and then run the file in a browser:
and follow the on-screen instructions. That will fix the searchindex error. This will also fix the search for new posts issue, and while I don't see why it would be related, it may very well fix the other problem too.
