Is there a way to allow a Super Moderator to also belong to another User group like a Premium Member group without loosing his/her PM group permissions and benefits nor super mod status and title?

You should be fine. The 'Yes' permissions take precedence over any 'No' permissions - except for when the user group is one of the banned groups.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

Really? Ok, how do i set it up without using acces masks.
here is what I have. My http://authorzone.com site runs on a software custom built which requires vB2.x BUT the forum software itself is not changed at all.
The way it works, when a user upgrades their account to premium, the software automatically ads the user the premium member Group on the forum, BUT if I make the user a super mod they loose their Premium member benefits automatically but the custom software does not do this, it just the forum that seems to do it automatically.
So how do I make certain premium members Super Mods and still keep them in the Premium Member group.
Thanks for yer help Steve! I am pretty good with vB but some things are simply not that obvious to me now that I use vB3 on most of my other sites.Comment

Darn - the way you worded this I thought you were talking about vB3. My answer was applicable to vB3 - but not vB2. You can't be in multiple user groups in vB2 so whatever group they are in determines what permissions they have.
