  • Binary attachments getting corrupted

    Hello all,

I've got a redhat linux 9 box, running vBulletin Version 2.3.0, mysql-server-3.23.54a-11, and PHP Version 4.2.2.

My problem is that whenever I try to attach a binary type docuement (MS Office doc, zipped file, gifs, etc...) they upload fine, but come back down corrupted.

I say corrupted to mean that they will not open with their original viewing program, (Word, WinZip etc...)

Regular text files and unix scripts seem immune.

Also, I've increased the size of the attachments possible in Vbulletin Options: Attachments: Maximum File Size: to 3145728. and the Valid Extensions field has the following (all of which have valid gifs in /images/attach): gif jpg png txt zip bmp jpeg doc txt ppt

I'm sure I'm not giving enough info for a full resolution here, but please let me know what else would be useful to post...

    Thanks,
    Dave Moreno

    Resolution (I think)

    All,

I believe the resolution for this issue is to make sure that, in your httpd.conf file, the line for adding the PHP extensions should look like this:

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3

For details search for posts by me (dnmoreno), entitled Editing header template adds extra HTML code???

    Good luck,
    Dave
