Remove option fields during registration

In version 2.3 how do I remove most of the optional fields (ICQ, Homepage etc) that appear when you are registering for the site. I really want the registration process to be short and only collect information that is relevant to our type of board.

Remove those sections from the registeradult template.

I went to the register adult template and started to rem out from the start of the optional fields to after the birthday field.

I'm using "<!--" to start the comment and put " -->" at the end of the whole commented section.

But when I load the page it works, all my optional fields are gone EXCEPT the birthday field which now shows in the required section and at the very top of the page I can see this displayed "-->"

Any suggestions?

You put the comment tags in the wrong place. Keep working on it.
