  • newbie here again... problem importing phpBB2

    I've installed the import script.

When I attempt to import, I get the errors cited below. I've placed asterisks in place of DB information I don't want to make public.

The last thing cited indicates that it's trying to go into the /vb/ directory twice... perhaps this is the problem? If so, how do I fix this problem? If not, what is the problem?

There seems to have been a slight problem with the CROMAG dot COM Support Forum database.

Your database user needs to have MySQL privelages for the SELECT command. Ask your host to give it to you.

Hmm... well, I am the host. Is this something I can do in phpMyAdmin? If so, how?

No, you need to do this on the server level. I suggest checking over at http://www.mysql.com for the way to configure these permissions on your server.

          hrmmm

The network folks where my server is residing say that these permissions have been set, but I'm getting the same error.

          Any other ideas?

If you are getting the same error, i.e.,:

            select command denied to user
...then your host still has not given your database user SELECT privileges.
