Create a new database for vBulletin. Install vBulletin into the new database. Run the importer.
It doesn't matter where the vBulletin or phpBB files are. You just need a vBulletin database and a phpBB database to do the import.

Yet Another phpbb2--->vb Question :)
I got my license and downloaded the import script and installer... browsed around for a while, did a search and couldn't find the answer to my question.
My question is... I'm installing it into the same directory that my phpbb2 was in.
I did a backup of my images and files I wanted to save and saved those on my hard drive. I also did a full database backup... both in .sql and .gzip
My question is.... I'm not sure how to proceed. Do I just delete the phpbb2 files, install vb, run the converter script and point to the database backups I made?
I guess in short... in terms of members and posts... is the database backup all I need to get going? Should I leave my phpbb2 installed and delete the files after? (which seems messy since it's the same directory as where my vb is going).
Thanks!
