Database Error from Hell

Hi all

Nothing I've been able to do in the database will fix this error. Can you help me figure out why I'm getting it? It's a fresh install on a fresh database and shouldn't be generating any errors!

I did this fresh install of 2.3.0 because my regular database was generating the same error and I couldn't figure it out!

This is frustrating the heck out of me! Can anyone help? Please?

You have extra space or lines in your config.php file. Make sure there is no whitespace or extras lines in config.php either before the <?php or after the ?>.

Thanks, I fixed the fresh install of 2.3.0 by doing just that, but still can't fix the 2.2.9 original board (same problem in the functions.php file). I tried restoring from the backup and now it's created this lovely error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getuserinfo() in /home/elena/public_html/board/admin/sessions.php on line 112

I tried restoring the sessions.php from the backup, but that doesn't seem to fix it.

Any other ideas?

That's from a bad functions.php file. You need to reupload the original functions.php from the zip file.

Eeek! I did! Clearly there is something corrupted in my original file! I'm going to muddle through the upgrade and see if I can't just start over fresh. I don't care if I lose the hacks, but I am worried about transfering the threads, etc.

I'm confused about the upgrade process, but I'll work on trying to figure out before I bother you guys some more. I uploaded the files and everything, but since I was trying to figure out this error, I just installed 2.3.0 on a fresh database. Is there any way to move the files over? I can't access my Admin CP because of the dorky error. I keep going round and round in circles.

Let me see if I can work this out since I haven't read all the help threads on migrating threads, etc.

Thanks for your help so far. Poo on my dumb functions.php file. I can't imagine what happened to it!

Is there any way I can get a fresh one since 2.2.9 is not longer available for download? Or am I blind and missing the place to fetch it?
