There's a hack on vBulletin.org; it really isn't that complicated.

There's no way to do this with vB2 without extensive hacking. You can do this with vB3 however by adding a table prefix in config.php.

    Test vBulletin question

    Hello,

I have uploaded another vBulletin board to a 'testvb' folder and have password protected it like it said to do in the licensing agreement, but there is a problem, My host only allows me to use one database, so I am not sure how to install this test board, is there A way to like add a prefix, something like 'testvb_' to the tables it is adding to the mySQL database? If not then what should I do?

    Thanks
