Pulling Posts to a PDA / Mobile Optimized Version

I want to pull News Threads (well lead post at least) into a mobile version of my site. I run vbulletin and vbportal and I really want to include news into it from our news forum. Has anyone got any suggestions.

In vBulletin 3.0 you can link to external.php and pull them over as RSS or XML. Then you can use the programs on your PDA to format them properly.

Is there anyone that have a small tutorial on how to get all that stuff on your main page or any other page for that matter ?

I know nothing at all about XML.
I tryed to get a parser but then i need to add a XML file and not a php file ???
