  • Ezboard import

I have been holding off on importing an old ezboard into my new site. My new site has a couple of thousand posts and I was wondering if that would create a problem for the ezboard import. Does it have to be a "fresh" vb install in order to import?

The EZBoard import will import all your posts but not your user data. I don't believe there is any problem importing onto a forum that already has posts. You request this from the Members Area and Freddie does the import for you.

Freddie did an astounding job importing a huge EZBoard into my fresh vBulletin forum. AND, there is a fairly painless hack on www.vBulletin.org that lets you marry imported posts with a vBulletin user.

In other words, if someone registers on your forum who had 100 posts on the EZBoard forum, you can associate those 100 imported posts with the new vB user.

It doesn't matter how many ezboard posts that you have or how many posts are in your current vBulletin. All you do is tell me what ezboard forum goes into what vBulletin forum.
